International Women’s Day Q&A
Why did you choose your current role?
After a very brief stint working in POS almost 10 years ago, I always knew it was something I wanted to go back into. So, when the opportunity arose, I was eager to get back in to it! There is a natural buzz to working in POS which I love being around, and there is nothing like the excitement of seeing an initial concept come to life and go into store.
Like a lot of young girls I grew up with a passion for dance, and I am lucky enough that this passion has followed through into my adult life. I regularly teach ballroom & Latin dancing to children & adults of all ages. 💃
My daughter. She inspires me to be the best version of myself. She makes me want to be a good, hard-working, fun, happy role model with a passion for life.
My kids, they always make me proud, and amaze me with new things they learn on a daily basis.
I have learnt that its sometimes a good idea to slow-down, take a step back and evaluate. Pre-pandemic I was always on the go with working, motherhood, dancing, and daily aspects of life, and I wasn’t in any rush to change that. Since the pandemic I have spent a lot more time at home and enjoying sometimes not doing an awful lot! I do miss always rushing around and being a little frantic, but now know that it’s not a bad idea to press pause to take a day just for myself.

After leaving university, I worked as a visual merchandiser for H&M and loved it, not only for the creative aspect but the thought of how, why, what and when with shoppers. My job was to really encourage shoppers to shop a certain way, the way they walked around the store, viewed a window, noticed trends and I really enjoyed creating that. 🛍️
My dad is the biggest workaholic and entrepreneur, building his own business that my mum and him have run for 10 years. And my mum, living with a chronic illness since I can remember and to find out recently that I also have Crohn’s disease means I look up to her more than ever.
Super cheesy but my favourite song has to be ‘Never Forget’ by Take That. Has a special place in our family and perfect for a good loud singalong, it always is the last song played at any of our parties.

What sparked your interest in retail?
I absolutely love experiencing beautiful and exciting store experiences. I adore going to London and walking the huge department stores and the likes of Disney, Ted Baker or Olivia Burton and just enjoying the creativity of it all.
I love to travel, make memories and meet new people who are different to me (but also the same in many ways!). So far, I’ve managed to travel around Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Morocco, and Greece. I especially love to go walking, explore National Parks and discover waterfalls when I travel. Oh, and I also do kickboxing in my spare time!
I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (and made it back down again!) and I raised £4500 for CLIC Sargent in the process.
I once got up and danced on stage with Fuse ODG. 😆
I think everyone should be taught government and politics at school, it’s so vitally important to make sure you are being represented.
